Error message 26172

Error message C:\User\..\Local\SAP\SAP GUI\tm cannot be created. User can open certain PDFs attached to DIRs. Error when trying to display for certain DIRs only.

• Authorization looks ok.
• SAPGUI 710 patch 13
• Local configuration path all looks ok.
• Adode reader, the default program to open PDFs

Hi Rajee,

based on the used SAPGUI version I think that the information at Error 26172 with SAPGUI 710 patch13 - Product Lifecycle Management - SCN Wiki could be useful for you.

In case of error 26172 please see also the information at 26 172 - Reason for this error - Product Lifecycle Management - SCN Wiki and check also the settings in the appplication log transaction SLG1.

Hi Ashok,

This types problem comes with pooor connections b/w servers.Ask techincal person to restart contentserver (DMS server)  and make active database manager .

Perhaps one of the following problems may exist:

a) try other computer ... same document, same PDF ... running/not running ?

b) perhaps PFDs are demaged

c) perhaps filesize exceeds limit (if you have one)

d) perhaps not a PDF ... somtimes users checks in e.g a Word file with ws application of PDF

e) local hard disc full

f) filename and path are too long .. there is a limit at 128 chars (im not sure)

g) invalid chars in the filename

h) check SAP note 679815

i) try SAP GUI 720 or 730 or last 710 patchlevel

j) check performance of KPRO (e.g. perhaps you have timeouts while transfer)

k) KPRO not reachable in some cases

l) try function "Copy to ..." and choose other drive/path
