Archiving and Unarchiving Repository!!!!!

Former Member

Hello experts

I am my MDM server running on Oracle and I want to archive/unarchive my repositories.

Need to know something :

1) When I am archiving/unarchiving the repository , the data that I have in the data manager will be archived together with the structure ? I mean I don´t have to do nothing in Oracle ?

Can someone explain the process ?

Many thanks

Hi Stan,

When you archive a repository, the archive shall contain all the data.

You can also selectively archive the schema only.

In that case its better to go for transport mechanism using the XML import.export.

Hope that helps.

While archiving, you have several options.

One way is to archive both the schema and data together. You dont have to do anything in the Oracle layer at all. The archive file will contain the schema, data, validations, workflow, maps etc...

The other way is to archive only the schema. Here the data is not part of the archive file.
