Hi Guys,

We are trying to run HANA life cycle manager but getting an error : "Error occurred while trying to start SAP HANA lifecycle

manager. Check log file for details."

Already  tried all the steps recommended in the note "1896320 - Error occured while trying to start SAP HANA Lifecycle

Manager".

We are running HANA sp6 Rev 60,host agent 169, HLM sp6 and want to upgrade to SP7.  We have installed the HLM from the os level and able to view the processes running at the  os level but unable to launch it from the studio/browser.

We see these  errors in sapstartsrv.log:

[Thr 140550824232720] *** ERROR =>

ConnectContext for /lmsl/HLM/HAN

failed [HTTPProxyHan 195] [Thr 140550824232720] *** ERROR => Error: sock 23; error 111 (Connection refused) (111: Connection refused) [sixx.cpp 127] [Thr

Any ideas ?

Hi,

I am trying to use HLM (Command-line client - hlmcli) for single stack update.

Facing error while running the command (as shown in attached screenshot)

In the log shows JVM Terminated. Exit code = 1 ( as shown in screenshot).

Thanks,

Hello Bala ,

Can you try running command as below :

hlmcli.sh --sid <SID> --sidadm_pwd - --help , this will prompt you for password. After entering the password you should not get error.

Thanks

Guys, I just solved it. SAP Host Agent was down in my HANA DB Server. Used
./saphostexec -restart with user root

Hi,

Please check the HLM process is running or not .You can use ./HDB info or ps -ef | grep HLM. If the process is running please stop the process and start HLm Again

Hi Abdul,

What is the user with which you are trying to invoke HLM in studio?

Also is your saphostagent configured correctly?

Hi Vasanth,

We are using <sid>adm user while invoking the HLM from studio.  We have tried from the browser as well.

We are running host agent 169

Thanks for trying to help me guys,

we got it resolved after sap replied to our message.

Basically, we had two directories in /usr/sap/SID/-  HDB00 and HDB00_backup which was old directory.  SAP suggested to rename the HDB00_backup to backup, only after that we were able to launch HLM successfully.
