Mail Inbound Proccess Configuration in ECC

Hi Experts,

I have few quires regarding Mail inbound configuration.

1. Which Node we will use in SCOTT?

2. Can we use SMTP node for outgoing and in-bounding, if yes how to configure in network side [i.e,  Mail server configuration].?

Note: We don't have PI server.

Kindly provide your valuable suggestions.

We implemented 5 steps in the below link document.

We need to understand step 6 [Defining Routing Rules on E-mail Server].

We informed to Network team, they claiming not possible to receive mail SAP System through SMTP.

Could you please suggest how to go about this?
