Solution Manager 7.1 Pre- Configurations

Dear Experts.

I have done fresh installation of SAP Solution Manager, Please help me what are the steps that i need to do after installation and before starting the  Solution Manager Configuration. Please help me if there is guide that mentions all the pre- configurations so that the system gets ready for the configuration.

Dear Experts.

I have exicuted the command as mentioned below:

d:\usr\sap\DAA\SMDA98\script\smdsetup.bat managingconf hostname:"abc.xyz.com" port:"8100" user:"SMD_ADMIN" pwd:"xxxxx";

I got the output as success. But the Log says, below are some of the log i have pasted

SLD configuration not found to register the agent, SLD Agent Registration is skipped.

Dear Experts.

In continuation to this thread (activity), i am exicuting the system preperation phase. In the phase 6.6 Connect Diagonostic Agents to Solution Manager, i am trying to connect AGENT, after i click - Get Agent, i am looking the log and getting the message as " No Diagnostics agents currently registered in SLD SOLMAN.

I have installed Daigonostic Agent during the installation itself. Please help me resolve this issue.

Hi Mohd,

This is an expected message.

It is because just by installing a diagnostic agent on the managed system your work is not over.

You have to register the SMD agent in the solution manager you are using for technical monitoring.

There are twop ways of registering SMD agents to Solman:

1. Direct Solution Manager Registration

2. SLD Registration

You may refer the following link to understand how it is done.

I would recommend using the first option as it is more convenient.

Kindly mark helpful/correct if it solves the problem.

Dear Robin.

Thanks for your reply. I have followed the 2nd method that you have mentioned in the above post and tried connecting the Diagonostic agent but still the same error, which is shown in the screenshot below. Please Suggest.

After Solman Installation,

set all parameter in sap level & os level,

Upgrade your service pack with latest version,

Dear Experts.

I am applying SPS10 through SUM tool, SUM is asking for SPAM at-least 51 and while downloading the same the file is going for approval, as the configuration is still to be done how to download the SPAM update 51. Is there any other alternative for the same.

Please Suggest.

Hi Mohd,

Kindly check whether there is SPAM version 51 in your /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in directory.

If not then kindly download SPAM/SAINT version 51 from service market place and place it in this directory.

SUM will automatically detect it and will work fine.

You can create a new maintenance optimizer transaction to approve SPAM download.

For this you will have to manually select download files.

After approving it you can download it and place it in the above directory. Note that there is no stack file created in this case.

This is what I observed during my SPS 10 update.

SV-SMG-MAI-APR, SAP has approve the SPAMSAINT Update 51 and issue resolved.

Hi Mohd,

After solman installation,

Step: 1 upgrade the SP to latest SP level using SUM( current SP level is SP10)

Step: 2 Use SAP delivery client 001 as productive client  for SAP Solman( dont do any configuration change in   client 001)

      -Create new client and perform a local client copy using profile sap_all with 001 as the source client         source client for user

     - Afterward convert the java UME to the new PRD client.

step: 3 Parameter: Note 1582842 - Profile parameters for Solution Manager 7.1

Step: 4 Logon to PRD client ( eg:100,..) start the solman_setup and check the below guide
