External Email Receiving

Former Member

Dear Experts

I've configured working external email in my SAP system. The sending process is working fine and I can send email to external email address.

But the email receiving is having an issue.

I reply to the relevant email which I mentioned to a user not receiving. That mean the receiving process is not working.

What can be the issue for it. The configuration which I did mentioned below.

  • Created the profile parameters

icm/server_port_3PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180
rdisp/start_icmantrue
is/SMTP/virt_host_0*:25000

  • Did the sap connect configurations as follows

configure default domain [example.com]

Use SMTP Node

Mail server and port is given [port 25]

  • Then edit user settings

  Change user type as system

regards

Check notes:

455140 - Configuration of e-mail, fax, paging/SMS via SMTP
2203325 - Configuration of e-mail using SMTP (inbound) [Video]

IMHO: The most important is, that user used in SAPconnect configuration needs to be in client 000 ( and in other clients)

1702785 - Error diagnosis for SMTP using TLS and SMTP authentication
and should be SYSTEM user not SERVICE user.

I appeared true when I tested configuration from email client (not from command line).

HI all

I followed you all but still unable to reviving mail though SAP sbwp. the configuration which I did as follows.

  1. I configured the SAP-connect according to the guide.
  2. Host-data, logon-data and handler information was provided , save and activate the sap-connect.
  3. Did inbound processing in SCOT.
  4. Configure email server to forward email to the SAP system IP.
  5. Check in sbwp for the relevant user.

But email is not received.

Hi Priyan

from the looks of it , you have configured the inbound processing fine ..

Please check the steps mentioned in this SAP note which contains a telnet test to check if the inbound processing is working fine .. or if there is some issue..

607108 - Problem analysis when sending or receiving e-mails

Hope it helps

Thanks

No vendor specified issue is resolved. It was due to password incorrect.
