Hello All,

Please help me on the below query.

1) We are creating a new quality system (QRD) on a new server by copy of production system (PRD) (disk to disk copy :flash copy) ---> Unix team and SAN team are going to do this.

2) once we created a new system  (QRD)  Please let me know the steps to change the SID(from PRD to QRD) on a new system.

3) Steps to change the hostname and SID in RFC

4) Do we need to run BDLS on New system.

Please let me know if i have missed any steps for the above task.

Hello

You need to do a homogeneous system copy.

Are you going to do a flash copy of the database and SAP file systems ?

In that case you will need to reconfigure all the symbolic links.

If possible make use of the System Rename tool.

If this is an Oracle database then you need to recreate the control files and the recovery of the database.

You need to manually reconfigure all the RFC's with the correct host name.

Yes you need to run BDLS for this.

You will also need to install the license and configure the TMS.

Follow below tool to change your SID...

You should run the BDLS...

There will be many RFCs in PRD which is pointing to live systems. You must findout these and change or delete if not required.
