Hi
When i check TCPDB entries, i found two entries . Please confirm whether my sustem is MDMP.
and also let me know for MDMP is there any different process for doing Combined Upgrade & Unicode Conversion (CU&UC).
Regards
subbu
Hi Subbu
Planning the combined Unicode and upgrade to EHP 6 would be project in itself as I assume that you will need to move all the systems in the PROD landscape.
Please see the detailed requirements in this note :
928729 - Combined Upgrade & Unicode Conversion (CU&UC)
Also please check the attached ZIP files at the same. As your oracle version is 11g , hence should be fine.
Thanks
Rishi
Hi Subbu,
the effort for doing a combined Upgrade & Unicode conversion highly depends on several different aspects - e.g. for export/import procedure:
Overall Database size
Size of specific Tables
- Size of largest tables
- Size of cluster tables
Available Hardware
- Number and speed of CPUs
- I/O Performance of disks
- Separate server available for PRD Unicode system
- Additional (temporary) hardware available for export and import
Settings
- Special r3load export / import options (e.g., unsorted export)
- Profile parameters (see SAP Notes 784118 and 857081)
Time and number of tests spent on optimization
Please have a look at
Combined Upgrade and Unicode Conversion
and SAP note 1322715 for details.
Please also note that a conversion of an MDMP system will add significant effort (mainly in transaction SPUMG).
Best regards,
Nils Buerckel
Please check installation/upgrade guides and Notes available over SMP as mentioned above.
Perform upgrade using SUM and Unicode conversion by system copy export/import after upgrade.
UCCHECK has to be done prior to upgrade.
