Let me know about the first method? Where will we use this option?
One example is that in a situation where in you are planning to change the OS and/or DB of the SAP system then you need to do a Heterogeneous system copy (migration). In such a situation you need to select this option. These are basic questions and you should read SAP System Copy guides to understand how the system copy works.

Hello
System Copy ( DB Back-up&Restore ) or SAP System Export& Import
Both will get the database content.
For SAP System Export& Import you will need to shut down the source system and also you need to use the installation media.
For backup and restore you just need to restore the database using the DB specific tools from the backup server.

Backup and restore(attach/detach in case of MS SQL) for homogeneous system copy
Export/import for heterogeneous system copy

Hi Dheen,
Go with System Copy DB-backup and Restore method.
and then the install the CI.
1. Moreover , you can copy the folders /usr/sap and /sapmnt/<SID> to the target system (without sapinst)
2. Change the entries in profiles
In the above case you need to setup the oracle client properly.

Dear Dheen,
For ECC system copy best Approach is DB Back-up&Restore ..it will be done faster also ,,,export and import will take much time,
