Batch and AFS MRP status not allowing to activate material

Dear Experts,

While moving goods to scrap error shows 'AFS MRP status not maintained in

material'. Then while changing material master (MM02) AFS MRP status and

batch management is not activating as there is stock for this material.

We can't able to make stock zero also. Please suggest and do needful

Hello,

For Finished product it is mandatory to flag the AFS mrp status. Only a specific scenario of sales bom requires this field to be switched off.

Also, batch management is a prequesite in AFS solution for all materials which are involved in inventory management. It is by default set to plant level.

Now, you must cleanup some data before being able to change this setting (the same happens when you want to change valuation class in MM). Remove the stock, change the material and put back the Stock. Run /AFS/MD04 to see if you have now a valid supply.

How to remove stock?? As because doing so error msg shows " AFS MRP view of material XXXXX in plant  not maintained"  Message no. 8W233

If the message says "AFS MRP status not maintained in material"

then why do you need to change the batch management indicator?

I dont know AFS at all, but assume that the status that you want enter requires batch management.

If you would provide more info on the error message details then even someone who does have experience in AFS might be able to interpret the error.

OSS note 690576 - Description of MRP statuses in AFS planning

explains the MRP statuses, maybe you could use another one to scrap your material, as activation of batch management despite of stock is not  possible (without spending money for a a specifc SAP solution). Maybe you could find consulting notes based on the error message number.
