How to create DB view between MDM and DS on Oracle database

Former Member

Hello,

I have successfully created a DB view between MDM and DS on SQL database, but could not build a connection on Oracle database.

Error Message :

Problem occured while connecting to repository 'XXXX' on MDM server ' XX.XX.XX.XXX'

The things I have done as follows:

1. Get DBViews_execution_package

2. Create a repository slave

3. Install Java Runtime Environment

4. Install Oracle client on a client computer

5. Edit Configuration Options File

6. Execute the File

Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Xavier

Hi Xavier,

I see that you're using the standalone java utility described in SAP Note 1556213, most of the issues found in this tool had to do with configuration issues so you should check you oracle client and configuration file thoroughly, please note that since It is not part of the official released MDM product it will not be supported by SAP. Alternatively you can use the CLIX command to generate DB Views if you use MDM in SP10 or higher versions.

I explained how to do so in my blog:

Hi Tal,

We are using MDM SP09, so CLIX is not a solution for us by now.

I suppose Oracle Client is fine as I can tnsping and sqlplus server. For the Configuration file, I have checked several times and can not find out where is wrong. Is there any special detail should be noted?

Xavier
