Use the device 'standards' in your application - Warning- After SP2 Upgrade

Dear All,

We have recently upgraded our DEV BI system from 4.1 SP1 to SP2. Since then we have been receiving following error. This is mainly happening when we are opening any analysis workspace.

When I click "ignore" it goes away. It is not critical but really annoying. Also, I am curious to know the cause and solution to get rid of this error.

Any help will be really appreicated.

Regards

Angad

Hello Angad,

Which browser version are you using? Do you use Compatibility mode?

Also try to apply the resolution described in the following KBA (it's not the same workflow but resolution could help)

Thanks Monica,

Although solution given in SAP note did not help but turning off compatibility view in IE 10 resolved the issue. I will keep checking it.

Open IE > press F12 and change Browse Mode to IE 10

Hey Angad,

I tried un-checking both in compatibility view setting-

  • Display intranet sites in compatibility view.
  • use Microsoft compatibility lists.

but it still prompt the warning message to me ?

thanks,

Coolio.

HI Coolio,

What version of IE are you using? Did you try the same method that I followed

Open IE > press F12 and change Browse Mode to IE 10

However, I assume this issue is resolved in 4.1 SP2 Patch 1. See following release notes

"ADAPT01712164 Description: BI Launch Pad fails to render BEx application with Internet Explorer 9 or higher version.

The root cause is that BEx inherits HTML5 DOCTYPE from BI Launch Pad. As a result,

Internet Explorer 9 (or higher version) launches BEx application in Standard mode which

is not supported by BEx.

New Behaviour: BI Launch Pad now launches BEx application in a separate window and renders BEx in

Quirks mode."

Angad
