Time zone inconsistency between client 000 and 100

Former Member

Hi all,

While execute the ST03 the below error occurred

I checked the user defined time in TTZCU table

000

TZONESYS--CET

TZONEDEF-CET

100

TZONESYS--UTC

TZONEDEF-UTC

whether the table entry of system time zone should be same or not in both the client?

Thanks,

Priyanga G

Hi Priyanga,

Login to client - 000

Run the report - TZCUSTHELP

you may definately find some inconsistency in the report.

Run transaction - STZAC ( in 000 client itself)

Modify the "system time zone" in such a way that it matches the server OS time.

Run trasaction - SM37 (in client 000 itself)

check whether the job "SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR" is running or not.

if running ->> in the step details ->>check whether it is running with the correct program.

correct program is RSCOLL00

if it is running with RTCCTOOL then change it to RSCOLL00

please note all the above steps must be performed in client 000.

Hope this helps,

Naga

Hi,

Please check the below two notes and make the setting as per the notes.

Here system time zone is in CET in STZAC Tcode but how the time displays in UTC in System--> status?

From where the system gets time in system--status place?

Thanks,

Priyanga

From where the system gets time in system--status place?

SAP gets time from the OS level.

You need to check the date and time at the OS level.

If the OS is Unix then use the command date to check that.

Hi,

We usually have host agent running with root then it can be that you can have some wrong data.

In stzac you can set what ever time zone you need to set.

Please check the above two notes properly and the below note that stats that time zone for root ans sidadm should be same.

You got your answer:

"....................................

  root running under-CET time.

then why stzac time is in CET?"  because SAPOSCOL is running using root user.

Hi,

Please read earlier comments.

Do you know the function of SAP hostagent (that replaced saposcol)?

SAP Host agent start saposcol and is used to collet history data in st06. History data is processed by the SAP instance which is started by the <sid>adm user so that SAP processes are running in the time zone configured for the <sid>adm.

System is running with SIDadm so it will use the time UTC time.

Have you ran the report this TZCUSTDISP and TZCUSTHELP.

In the R/3 system, you can check this using transaction 'STZAC'.

Check the settings in the operating system (you can use the values from the analysis report to help you here: the 'SY-TZONE' values includes the difference for UTC without taking into consideration the daylight saving time).

Thanks

Hi Priyanga,

Use transaction STZAC and set the same time zone for both 000 and 100 clients. Please double check whether you have set any user time zone settings in su01 or su3.

Hi Priyanga,

There is difference in time setting between Operating System and SAP. Check SAP Note 926290.

Both OS and SAP should have the same timezone offset.

Hi Priyanga,

Execute the report TZONECHECK, which is mentioned in the sap note 926290. There is mismatch in time setting.

Please check below link hope it will help you.
