Hi Pawan Agarwal,

Your OS is Windows 2003 32 bit and maintained until14.07.2015. As you are upgrading i feel you can take this as a consideration to avoid furture problems. Following DB,OS and kernel versions are applicable in your case.

PAM

ORACLE 11.2 32-BIT - WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA32 32BIT - SAP KERNEL 7.21 32-BIT UNICODE
ORACLE 11.2 32-BIT - WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA32 32BIT - SAP KERNEL 7.21 32-BIT
ORACLE 11.2 32-BIT - WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA32 32BIT - SAP KERNEL 7.20 32-BIT UNICODE
ORACLE 11.2 32-BIT - WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA32 32BIT - SAP KERNEL 7.20 32-BIT

Space Requirements

You need to have following free space.
SUM Directory - Approximately 25 GB
Download Directory - Approximately 40 GB
DIR_TRANS - Approximately 40 GB
Shadow System - SAP recommends to reserve at least 100 GB.

Stack File Creation

To upgrade your SAP Solution Manager system, you require a stack configuration file (stack.xml). Depending on your SAP Solution Manager version, proceed as follows:ëõêë ý
For SAP Solution Manager 7.0 enhancement package 1 SPS 23 and higher, you use Maintenance Optimizer to create the stack configuration file

Using SUM Tool

For using SUM tool you can go through following link
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-25113

For other things you can go through upgrade and installation guides.

Hi Pawan,

I would suggest to go with new solman 7.1 rather than upgrade ,,,,Because its a huge difference between functionality of these ....

Your solman will be very slow ,,,as i have get a experience ,,If you wanted to proceed ,,,You need SUM tool to upgarde solution manager not SWPM.

and as rishi said follow the central note also,,,

Please check the below note.

Hello

Please start with these

https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000783082011E

1583348 - Documentation: SAP Solution Manager 7.1

1653016 - Where to find Configuration Documents for SAP Solution Manager 7.1 ?

1781833 - Add. Info. About Upgrading to SAP Solution Manager 7.1

You need to create a stack file first and then download all the files according to the stack file.

The upgrade guide is your friend and it has all the information to guide you until you complete it.

You need to use the Software Update Manager (SUM) tool for the upgrade and not the SWPM as suggested above.

Hi,

You need SUM tool to upgarde solution manager not SWPM.

SWPM is for installation tool.

Please check the below note.

Hi Guys,

My Mistake... Please USE SUM tool for upgrade. (NOT SWPM, it is used for installation)

You can find SUM in the same location where you can find SWPM.

Hi,

Please first check that Solman 7.1 is supported on this OS or not . So please check Pam.

Sytem: Solution manager 7.0

OS:      Windows 2003 32 bit

db:          Oracle 11.2.0.3

Once you get those details you need to then plan accordingly.

Related to the upgrade you need to check the below note.

Note 1781833 - Add. Info. About Upgrading to SAP Solution Manager 7.1
781448 - Support Package levels of SolMan installations / upgrades

Please check the note and see which patch level you are and what menthod to use for the upgrade.

Once you get the stack file and the dvd you can use the su tool to do the upgrade.

Thanks
