SUM Execution Phase error for JAVA

Hello Friends,

I am upgrading my existing solution manager 7.0 EHP1 to Solution manager 7.1 via sum tool SP09.

I am at execution phase and getting below error for JAVA :

" Cannot start service for instance 0 on host . Return code condition success evaluated to false for process sapcontrol.exe for action start service. "

I am using windows 2003 with oracle 11.2.0.3.  Also my kernal is 720 and Patch 500.

Dear All,

Thanks to all for your suggestion.

My problem has been solved. It was kernel binary files mismatch. I checked it via GetVersionInfo.

After this i update the kernel 720 with Patch 500 to all location and than restarted update and it worked.

Your are right.. For me also, it was kernel binary files mismatch with global exe and local exe. I also found it via GetVersionInfo.

Please post also B:\SUMTOOL\SUM\sdt\log\SUM\SAPCONTROL_STARTSERVICE_00_11.OUT file. Check also Windows Event Log.

You can't reset the upgrade in execution phase, you must resolve the issue and continue with the upgrade.

The issue is only SCS is not coming up. Try to start the SCS manually and check the logs why the errors under drive:\usr\sap\<SID>\SCS00\work

was there any issues during the extraction of SUM? do you have sufficient freespace under B:\ drive.

review or attach the logs from B:\SUMTOOL\SUM\sdt\log\SUM

There was no error in SUM extraction and we are having enough space in B drive.

Please let me know can i reset my upgrade??? I am at execution phase.
