SAP installation on Oracle RAC ASM

Hi,

As per SAP Note 1738053 there is an option to install SAP directly on Oracle RAC ASM. But in some SAP forums its been discussed that SAP will not support direct installation on RAC ASM. Can anyone had installed SAP directly on RAC.

what is the problem?

Have you tried and got an error?

or only readying posts from "some SAP forums"?

When SAP was released for RAC and ASM SAPINST did not supported them (was not able to "talk" to them)

That has been solved some time ago and now it is possible to install SAP directly on ASM and RAC (any combination of them)

you only need to use a current version of the SWPM

You have more information on the guides that you can find on the SCN (please read them as the installation of Oracle RAC and/or ASM differs from the "standard" installation on a "normal" SAP) Also you have some more information on presentations from the DOAG:
