SMTP configuration

Hello,

I have a system (NW 7.02) and I need to send e-mails from SAP. I normally do the configuration in the NW and then ask the SMTP administrator to configure de relay. However, this time the SMTP (exchange) is on another network. Have anyone tried this scenario? If it's not possible, do anyone have an alternative?

Regards,

JAM

btw: Merry Christmas!

Hi,

From the sap side the configuration will still be the same .

Only things that you need to keep in mind is to get the below details for send email.

  • If there is firewall in place get it burnt for the mail server on port 25.
  • Need to get the ip address and the host name of the mail server updated in the DNS or your host file so that your system knows it.

Thanks

Wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas.

The SAP system should reach the SMTP server on port 25 and the relay settings should permit transmission of mails.

This is basically something which needs to be done at the network side.

You just need to get the support from a network specialist to make sure that both the systems can communicate.
