unable to start java in SAPMMC

Dear Techies,

I am unable to start java on windows server, as my production system is running fine.

Here i am getting the issue with unrecognized parameter, i didnt find this parameter on configtool, java parameters.

-jco.settracelevel=0 - This is wrong

The correct setting is -Djco.trace_level=0

The Java parameter -Djco.settracelevel=0 is already set

Open the config tool and remove -jco.settracelevel=0 under all nodes and save it.

Restart the J2EE system.

Hi Rishi,

Yes, i tried to delete that parameter, but its not existing in my config tool...i checked all parameters in config tool....but how its showing that parameter is unrecognized...is there any process to stop the work processes in windows system from os level. Pls suggest me, might be some work processes are still running under os level....

Hi,

Easier way to identify the location is the configtool is to check the file dev_server0 in the /usr/sap/SID/J*/work directory.

Can you please post the dev_server0 log also.

or check /usr/sap/SID/J*/j2ee/cluster file instance.properties

I don't see anywhere the parameter in the config tool.

I would try this-

Click on the save button

Restart the J2EE systems

Check if this helps.

Can you please first do one thing.

Where ever you have -Djco.jarm=1 entry in the config tool try to remove the entry  till you come to the next line . Then save the changes.

Can you please try to go in the below note .

It might be that the entry might be not in there but its not synced properly.

Yes, I done the same....and also I restarted DEV and PRD, PRD is getting up successfully but not DEV, The same issue is persisting...is server reboot required ???  how to resolve this issue !!!

Hello Raz

Take a backup of the file D:\usr\sap\SND\JC01\j2ee\cluster\instance.properties to another location.

It looks like someone manually modified the instance.properties file from the OS level. (Just a guess).

There are 3 occurrences of -jco.settracelevel=0 in the instance.properties file.

This is not something I would suggest or recommended but I see there is no other way.

You can edit the file instance.properties by removing -jco.settracelevel=0

Save it and restart the J2EE system.

Make sure to take the backup of the file before you modify it.

Did you changed any java related parameters and restarted the system?
