Hi Syed,

You can't use an older version of NWDS (from your post I assume from NetWeaver 04 or 04s) to deploy to the Java EE 5 Preview Server. The Java EE 5 Preview already contains a well integrated Server and NWDS that you can use for out-of-the-box development, deployment, and running of Java EE 5 applications.

Vladimir

hi Vladimir Pavlov,

I am also interessted on the answer to saifudin.

As I can understand your reply, its not possible to use J2EE with Netweaver Developer Studio.

If we have Netweaver 2004S SR1 and Netweaver Developer Studio version 7.0.06 is it possible to do any Development on J2EE/Portale?

The two version SAP NW 2004s SR1 and SAP NWDS version 7.0.06 are compatible.

Thanks in advance for any clear answer regarding this ussue.

Of course, it's possible to do J2EE development and deployment with NWDS! What I said is that you cannot use the NWDS from NetWeaver 04 or 2004s (e.g. NWDS 7.0.06) to deploy to the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/da699d27-0b01-0010-99b0-f11458f31ef2">Java EE 5 Preview</a> Server. All NetWeaver releases (04, 04s, Java EE 5) come with a compatible NWDS that should be used with the corresponding server.

Hope this clarifies it!

Hi

You say first

" you cannot use the NWDS from NetWeaver 04 or 2004s (e.g. NWDS 7.0.06) to deploy to the Java EE 5 Preview Server"

and then

"(e.g. NWDS 7.0.06) to deploy to the Java EE 5 Preview Server"

it is a bit confusing that we can deploy it with Jee5 or not.

If not which version of JavaEE is compatible with NWDS 7.0.06

With other words: We have NWDS 7.0.06 -

which JAVA EE version can we use to deploy?

Thanks in advance for your support.

NWDS 7.0.06 <=> NetWeaver 2004s SR1 <=> J2EE 1.3

is it clear now?

Sorry, I don't get your question?!

The SAP NetWeaver AS Java EE 5 Edition is fully Java EE 5 compatible and <a href="http://java.sun.com/javaee/overview/compatibility.jsp">certified</a> for Java EE 5. The NWDS part of that package also supports Java EE 5 design time.

Hi

<b>SAP NetWeaver AS Java EE 5 Edition is fully Java EE 5 compatible and certified for Java EE 5. </b>

After making application developed with "SAP NetWeaver AS Java EE 5 Edition" where we deploy it. ON ECC6. or where.

I mean if it is only a jee5 appserver like other. then why SAP do this effort. there should be an integration with SAP ECC.

I am asking about that (SAP ECC where SAP-HCM, SAP-FICO other ) server.

Thank You

Please have a look at the Java EE 5 FAQ in the Wiki:

Which other, Syed? At the time SAP NetWeaver AS Java EE 5 Edition was released, the only other was the reference implementation

And for another question I have to open new thread

Thank You again for your dedicated help

Hello,

you need to know the location of the installed server. then from the developer studio, in the preferences you point to that location.
