Hi,

do you have any other oracle database installed on this host.

If yes then please check the below note.

Make sure to set the inventory locator (Note 98252 - Installing two Oracle databases on a host) when a new Oracle instance is installed.

Also you need to run the precheck.

If you want to write the logs in any specific directory you can used this .

setenv TEMP <location of the direcory>

dont forget to check the umask

should be 022.

you can set it using the below command

umask 022

Thanks

Hi,

You need to have below prerequisites before you start SWPM to install SAP system on your environment:

1. Decide the hostname which you want to assign , also please include the virtual name if you want and that should be resolved in the network

2. Hostname should be there as FQDN ( e.g abcd.com)

3. Please decide the UID and GID for SIDADM and ORASID users

4. Default shell should be CSH

5.  Please make sure ora<sid> has home as /oracle/<SID> (Not mandatory)

6. Kernel Parameters as below:

  1. /etc/security/limits.conf with lines similar to these:
  • @sapsys hard nofile 32800
  • @sapsys soft nofile 32800
  • @dba hard nofile 32800.
  • @dba soft nofile 32800

7. Please check the SWAP space requirement for your OS as per instructions in the Installation guide. It can be of 20 GB to start with

8. Install the c Library as applicable to your OS version as per Installation guide

Apart from this as oyu mentioned Java Version is nowadays not required SWPM will take care of that and will install automatically as per requiement and oyu can see the same in SAP Kernel directory after the installation of system.

Please apprise if you need any further help to start off with.

Hi,

Can you please first check the space in the /oracle/TPS filesystem.

Can you please also post the logs under /oracle/TPS/102_64/log/installaction*****.log.

Where did you download the patch from ? was it downloaded from SMP?

Thanks

Hello

I suggest you to download the installation media from SMP and extract them.

Hello

You just need to download the Oracle and SAP installation media and start the installation with the sapinst tool.

There will be a point sapinst will stop and ask you to install the Oracle software under orasid.

You need to start the RUNINSTALLER under orasid.

Everything is mentioned in the installation guide.

Pickup the SAP installation guide for the SAP Netweaver release you want for the Oracle database on HP-UX from here.

http://service.sap.com/guidefinder

It has the complete information.

Hello

Have you checked the installation guide for the SAP?

If you are installing an SAP ECC system then check the installation guide for that based Oracle on HP-UX.

It clearly states what needs to be set.
