BATCH Derivation for batch to batch transfer

Hi,

Is it possible to do batch derivation within batches of the same material? The requirement is to transfer characteristic values of say batch B1 of material X to batch B2 of the same material X using manual derivation.

I believe you should be able to.  In the recipient rules, make sure the indicator "Recipient does not send" is NOT ticked on.

Keep in mind that this can cause problems in reworking material if you aren't careful.

I.e. you make new material but consume up to 5% of OOS material or expired material into the BOM.  This 5% material can then send batch results to the finished product as well as the primary intermediate or raw material.

So you have to carefully think through your design and when and where you set up derivation.
