SGEN after kernel Patching

Hi All,

We have recently patched our CRM system from Kernel 701 patch number 176 to kernel 720 patch number 401.

I want to ask if SGEN is mandated after the patching. What I understand is running SGEN is mandatory when we apply support pack.But I am not sure  if this is required after kernel patching.

Can you please suggest?

Hello

SGEN is require when you are doing a kernel upgrade from one release to another.

Eg: Kernel release 700 to release 720.

I learned this today a hard way, after I start getting complaint from users that TXNs are taking ling time in compilation.
