Hi Experts
When I checked the contents of table EDISCOBJ, I found out that there are more than 2000 records beginning with the & sign in the field ANLAGE .
Could anyone tell me how this kind of data has come to the table EDISCOBJ.
Can this be cleaned up, since it causes problems in BW.
Please let me know about this!
Thanks in advance

Anshuman:
this is likely due to bad logic in custom code. How are these entries created?

bill.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the reply
I tried replicating the case and found out that while Creating Disconnection document (EC85) for a premise, an entry in the table EDISCOBJ is created with & sign in the field ANLAGE.
While viewing the properties for other disconnection documents which had '&' sign in the field ANLAGE, i found out that the case is occuring for disconnection docs. with disconnection objects as installation, premise, contract account.
From what i've found out this is occuring due to creation of disconnection document.
Thanks and sorry for the delay

Hi Anshuman,
I would assume that the '&' sign was implemented for a reason and wouldnt suggest to fix it in the Source system. Instead if you really don't need this in BW, there are two ways of solving the issue.
1. Write an Enhancement statement to just delete the unnecessary sign and update them back, so that the extraction from Source system itself would be Sign free.
Note : If you donot want to touch SAP standard column, you could enhance a column and then delete the unnecessary sign.
2. Extract the data as is into BW(i.e PSA) and then eliminate the unnecessary character in the start routine of your transformation.
