Hi,
I am installing SAP MDM 5.5 SP04.
Kindly suggest if I can install MDM on Windows 2003 and Oracle Database on Solaris SPARC 9.
Also whether Standard Windows 2003 will do or Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition is required.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Chintan Sheth
Hi Chintan
Yes, you may install MDM 5.5 on Windows 2003 and use Oracle on Solaris as your "MDM database".
Standard Windows 2003 Server will suffice.
Search for "MDM" in the Product Availability Matrix ( http://service.sap.com/pam ) for a comprehensive list of supported platforms, and notes that may be applicable to your installation.
Cheers,
Mark

Yes, that's fine - assuming that the MDM Server software runs on the Windows box and uses an Oracle database on a Solaris box. The database is "independant" from the MDM server. The fact that your database is running on a 64-bit O/S (and your database may also be 64-bit) must be immaterial to the application (in this case the MDM Server.)
Edit: please check the PAM for patch requirements in your environment.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the information again.
I have installed MDM 5.5 on Windows 2003 and also ORACLE database on Solaris 9. Now i will have to install ORACLE client on MDM Server's host.
I have downloaded the sar file for Oracle client on Windows Server, but how should i use that file to connect to Solaris database from MDM.
Regards,
Chintan
