user roles and authorization

Dear All,

                 How do we decide upon the roles requirements in EM ?  Ideally what all roles should exist in production environment ?

                Suppose if we want to provide an access to EM portal only to the third party vendor via EP Portal such that EP portal has link to the EM portal.

               How do we authorize the vendor to access the records only relevant to him ?

Hello Shubh,

here is an introduction:

Authorizations and Filters - SAP Event Management Infrastructure - SAP Library

There is a delivered example role /SAPTRX/SAP_EM_USER. This should contain everything a standard EM user should have. The special EM authorization need to be created as described in the link above.

Dear Steffen,

                      Thanks for your reply. I have searched the standard roles delivered by SAP. In the application system( ECC ) what should be the EM admin role ?  There is a role /saptrx/sap_as_admin but there are no data maintained for this role in ECC.

Hello Shubh,

on AS side there are no special EM authorizations as no EM objects were created there.

You only some Basis stuff to change customizing, RFCs etc.
