Solman not using Z Multilevel Categorization Schema

Hello,

We are configuring the Service Desk in Solman 7.1 SPS 8 and stuck in Step 2.3 Configure Automatically - Activate Categorization Scheme as it throws the below error -

Error: transaction type SMIN has already been included in the categorization schema - SAP_SOLUTION_MANAGER_TEMPLATE.

We have already copied the categorization schema - SAP_SOLUTION_MANAGER_TEMPLATE to Z_SAP_SOLMAN_TEMPLATE and now both are in active status in Z_SAP_SOLMAN_TEMPLATE we have specified the ZMIN T/Type and system is not allowing us to delete any of schema (as shown below becaus delete button is grey out) and we can't change the standard schema to use Z transaction type as it throws error that transaction type already used.

Where can we specify that use categorization schema Z_SAP_SOLMAN_TEMPLATE only instead of SAP_SOLUTION_MANAGER_TEMPLATE.

Thanks

SAP Guy

Yes, As mentioned in my previous reply, I have assigned ZMIN transaction types to Z_SAP_SOLMAN_TEMPLATE but SAP_SOLUTION_MANAGER_TEMPLATE contains the standard SMIN and both schema's are active

I have already refer the attached links but still issue persist.

Hi,

You cannot delete them, use Versions - button.

Try this:

  1. Create new version of SAP_SOLUTION_MANAGER_TEMPLATE
  2. Delete all entries in Application area
  3. Set valid from date and time
  4. Release Schema
  5. Create new version of your Z_SAP_SOLMAN_TEMPLATE
  6. Add ZMIN to application area ( hint ti find out ZMIN or SMIN, mark ZMIN description in customizing f.e. by Z Incident )
  7. Set valid from date and time
  8. Release Schema

After this test.

btw how did you created Z ? copied from standard or from scratch ?

Hello Dan,

I already tried this but when I am again executing the Job it create all the application area in standard template so I guess I can skip this step, Actually for Service Desk I am not feeling comfortable with SAP Guide as they haven't mentioned it in detail and even less blogs exist for whole process but on the other hand CHARM process is very well documented and so many blogs are also exist.

Also I need to configure the SLA Matrix as well and I am referring below link of Solman 7.0-

http://scn.sap.com/people/dolores.correa/blog/2011/06/03/service-desk-sla-configuration-hints

Can you please confirm if any change is needed in Solman 7.1 and what should be the calling hours set in Business Partner as we are working from Offshore (India) and our client is based in US, It's much confusing here.

Hi,

SLA configuration differce in 7.1 and its more powerful because you can match it with Multi level categorization schema.

Use this links:

Hi Sauradh,

once you delete all the application area in SAP_SOLUTION_MANAGER_TEMPLATE  and active it.During the Activate Categorization Scheme will check the SAP_SOLUTION_MANAGER_TEMPLATE Schema ID . but it will not able to create all the application area in the schema, because already in active state. So cross check the setting and run the Activate Categorization Scheme. error will disappear.

As you said this is not mandatory step. you can pass this activities and proceed further.
