Issue with starting SAP

Former Member

Hi

I have installed SAp r/3 4.7..using loopback adapter in windows xp sp2 and .everything wenet fine and i could start SAP and checked.

Now I installed my sound card and alos ethernet adapter for my internet connection and also installed antivirus and firewall. In the mean time I created a password for the administrator account which i left blank during installation of xp and later SAP. Now in services the two sap services are not started and when i tried to start these services it gave me erro like "cannot start due to log-on change " or sometyhing like this.

Anyhow I changed the log on type to local system from the default user name it took and was able to run the service now. But when I am opening the MMC and starting the basis here the disp is starting for short time and then again getting disabled.

After that when i try to log in from launch pad it is giving error.

Can some one please help me????/

Following are the ssreen shots of my issue:

1. Dispatcher is running:

http://www.divshare.com/download/232417-604

2. Disp stopped

http://www.divshare.com/download/232418-7ae

3. Error while logging from SAP launch pad

Hi,

I believe you were using the trail ABAP/JAVA versions from sdn(https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6)

Can you tell me how you resolved this issue?

I have the same problem.

Hello,

Your sap instance is unable to communicate with the daatabase. Check if your db is started and you r able to logon to your database or not.

<b>should we continue to help this guy as he is:

1. violating SAP's license?

2. using unsupported WinXP</b>

have a look at dev_disp and dev_w0, dev_rd and dev_ms.

If you did not get the answers out of them, post them here.

I believe that the firewall is blocking some ports the SAP System needs.

So many ppl are working on SAP r/3 on Win XP Sp2...

Former Member

no,

it is not supported at all, which is clearly visible when looking into the installation guides or the product availability matrix.

you may be able to install and start it,

you are only able to install it with some database vendors other - like MS -SQLserver cant be installed, because the database software itself is not installable on XP.

you will never be able to run production systems on it because of the lack of resources. For small development systems it may work, for test systems not.

believe me, SAP R/3 is a server application which already has resource problems with 4.7 on 32 Bit production servers...

I had asked you for dev_disp and dev_w0, dev_rd and dev_ms.

you posted non of them

have a look at the DVEBMGS\work subdirectory.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for telling the location of the files you requested.....

Here I have anmother problem which i want to tell you.

One of my frnd told me to change the system time and i changed it back to 3rd jan 2005 from the current date...and now i find two instances of many files here in the C:\usr\sap\SEN\DVEBMGS30\work folsder. I have attached the screen shot too.

http://www.divshare.com/download/236275-b91

So please tell me how to provide you the info from both the files....

Today i also saw a different errro this is when both the msg server and dispatcher server were running (Which only happen for a min or so)...i tried to log in from SAp logon pad but i saw this error:

http://www.divshare.com/download/236297-1c2

Sir I am a novice in this filed so please bear with me...

even for testing purposes i would not recommend to install on xp...use vmware instead and implement windows servers withihn the virtual machine...this would work for a testing system

and not the directorry view of the directory containing the files.

this is very boaring.

>>One of my frnd told me to change the system time and i changed it back to 3rd >>jan 2005 from the current date...and

aha - running without any license key and violating license agreement.

going back one year will not drive you back to the timespan the temp license is active.

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available.

would be interesting to have a look at stderr* files in the work directory.

you can also open a command prompt as senadm and run strdbs.cmd

Hi Ajay,

You are configured two networks one is Loopback adapter and anther one is Ethernet adapter that means I think you are maintain two IP addresses in your system.so, you please disable any one either Loopback or Ethernet and use only one IP address, that address set in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\host file. like IPaddress <Tabspace> Hostname then restart system hope this will solve your Prob.

Regards,

Pulla Rao.
