Hi,

I need your help with regard to the attached screenshot. I did go through the docs available but was unable to resolve.

I have done the following checks:

1. Info cube activation

2. Activation of services

3. Status of EFWK if the report E2E_EFWK_RESOURCE_MGR is running

4. Set up Business Process Monitoring

Can somebody help resolve?

Hi Pearl,

Do you still receive those dumps that you showed? if yes could you copy a bit more details also with information if it is on solman or managed system.

I know it might sound funny, but can you cross check clicking on "logical components" if the BW master data is loaded for the monitor?

As I understand there are no issues with BPMon montors, just data in BPA?

Could you also take a look if there are any dumps in managed system?

Cheers,

Jolanta

Hi Jolanta,

Thank you for replying. I don't find any dumps in Managed Systems except:

I think it must have something to do with MDX Parser error itself, like how Mr. Keiji had pointed out earlier. The reason I'm saying this is because I did the configuration steps for BP Dashboards and on checking the Analytics in the Dashboard:

Hi,

You mentioned that you reffered to the note 1032461 and did the check, have you however follow the problem resolution steps and started mdxsvr.exe at the end?

Hi Pearl T

There are several possibilities that you do not see the data in analytics selection screen.

Can you check following points.

1. Do you configure your BP Analytics monitor under the logical component ?

you wrote, you setup BPMon. If you mean, you configure monitor under business process,

this means the object is BPMon object.  In this case, you never see the data in analytics.

To use BP Analytics, please configure your monitor under the logical component.

2. Please check data is already available in Analytics Cube via T-CD LISTCUBE

    Choose cube 0SM_BPMRH

as display field, choose following parameters

    0CALDAY

    0SM_GP01__0SM_GPAVAL

    0SM_GP02__0SM_GPAVAL

    0SM_ROW

    0SM_MONID

    0SM_ALTYP

from your monitor setup screen, if you press technical information button (right side top),

you can get monitor ID. So please use monitor ID for searching.

If data is already available in cube already, there are following possibilities.

2.1 Missign authorization -> Refer to BP Analytics setup guide

2.2 MDX RFC not working. Check MDX RFC via SM59->TCP/IP

2.3 AKF runtime is not available. From BPO workcenter open connector directory setting

check your have configuration to connector instance.

        BPM_ACube

        BPM_Detail_List

Depending on the SP and Note implementation situation, you have to conduct AKF update

        manually.

If your SolMan 7.1 is more than SP10 or all the pre-requisites notes  patched

described in Note 1759233, AKF runtime updated automatically.

If data is not available, please check following.

2.4 Read RFC authorization.  ->As described in BP Analytics guide, your Read RFC user to

managed system needs SAP_MANAGED_BPOANA_DIS or SAP_MANAGED_BPOANA_ALL

(copy standard role and provide authorization and activate)

2.5 TIME Out during data collection
      Check ST22 at managed system

      Switch to background collection.

Hope above info help you

best regards

Hi Keiji,

Thank you for responding. I did check through the points mentioned.

1. Do you configure your BP Analytics monitor under the logical component ?

you wrote, you setup BPMon. If you mean, you configure monitor under business process, this means the object is BPMon object.  In this case, you never see the data in analytics.

To use BP Analytics, please configure your monitor under the logical component.

Checked. I've configured the monitoring objects under logical component.

2. Please check data is already available in Analytics Cube via T-CD LISTCUBE

    Choose cube 0SM_BPMRH

as display field, choose following parameters

    0CALDAY

    0SM_GP01__0SM_GPAVAL

    0SM_GP02__0SM_GPAVAL

    0SM_ROW

    0SM_MONID

    0SM_ALTYP

Executed T-code LISTCUBE with Selection Parameter InfoProvider '0SM_BPMRH' (Checked 'Display SID', 'DB aggregation' & 'Technical names')

In the next screen, there are 2 check boxes for 0CALDAY!! Please advice which one should I choose?

I'm sorry I didn't quite get this point. Can you please show with a screenshot?

2.1:  Checked missing authorizations based on the setup guide. // No issues there.

Too technical!! Couldn't find MDX RFC

I'm working on Solman 7.1 SP5

2.4: Checked. All clear

Hi Pearl

1. Monitor under the logical component.

Configured BPMon and BP Analytics Monitor appear under the logical component.

So both monitor appear under the logical component after configuration. So the important point is,

when you did a configuration did you configure under the logical component ?

In same screen if you add additional colomun "flavor"(from setting=>Choose Flavor),

you can judge      whether it is Analytics Monitor  or Normal one (BPMon Monitor) like following.

If your monitor has Analytics in flavor. Then your monitor is analytics monitor.

So data should be avaialble in analytics

    See attached Flavor.JPG

2. Listcube selection

1st one (actually does not matter)

3.Monitor ID in technical info

  See attached MonID.JPG

4.MDX RFC.

The screen shows right one. MDX PARSER

Choose MDX PARSER and then display.

From the menu, press connection test. This should not cause any error

If error occur MDX connection seems problem. So please contact your basis and ask them to fix.

   (note 1032461 should help)

5. Both connector shows green status.

But managed system is not maintained.

Probably it is better to add your managed system by choosing change button.

(Change mode -> Change->add your managed system SID and client)

    See attached connector.jpg

And you have 2 connector instance for BPM_ACube. I think you only need one.

So 2nd one should be de-activated.

6.Is it a dump from your solution manager or managed system (ERP) ?

For me it looks dump from solution manager and seems the dump from BPMon BW Alert Reporting (note 1796563  might help).

But I think what you want to see is Analytics and not BW Alert Report. So please check any DUMP in managed system (ERP).

Especially TIMEOUT dump related to /SSA/EKP . If no such a dump, timeout issue might not occur

7. On top of that, please double check your T-CD SOLMAN_SETUP -> Business Process Monitoring.

1.1  and 1.2 should have green status.

PS. If your are SolMan 7.1 Sp5, there are several recommended SAP notes  . So recommend to apply the SAP notes suggested in note 1759233.

Hi Keiji,

Season's greetings!

The problem is our BASIS guy has left us and we are waiting for the new joinee!!

So you see, I'm in a dilemma.. I don't get most of the technical stuff that is being mentioned..

Under Logical Components, I have 2 monitoring objects with flavor - Analytics & BW Alerting.

I executed Listcube with the monitoring ID as suggested by you.

Also, I checked the connection of MDX Parser. It shows some errors.

Referred note 1032461 and checked the below:

Please advice & help.

Pearl.

Hi Pearl

Since you have entry in Analytics cube, data collection part is ok.

So you need to fix MDX connection.

The screen shot obviously shows MDX issue.

Since I not basis person, I cannot how to fix your MDX connection

Hopefully somebody in the community can provide better advise for MDX issue.

Hi Karthik,

Went through your responses. Explored the discussion, implemented the notes mentioned in the discussion - 1699842, (most of them were already implemented). Still no luck.
