What does XI store in it's database? What are the common maintenance activities?
Thanks.
XI stores the default tables of WAS abap+java (the code + texts of screens and etc),
in addition XI systems, with high load might have large volumes, due to the messages that are also stored in the DB
the information about the messages is stored in ABAP and JAVA side.
the tables in the abap are IDX, SXM,...
the tables in the java are XI_*

Hi,
In which database you installed XI system. For example Oracle means it will store data in the form of data files.
When we installing XI system by default it will take some space in OS level in the form of datafiles.
For XI system we have to database owners one is SAP<SID> for abap system.
SAP<SID>DB for java system.
i hope it will help you.

the sizing of Xi is depended on the number of messages/hour and the type the messages (sync/async, type of mapping and etc),
you can find the documentation at
