saplongging.config file

In my netweaver instance, if i go to and view the cluster/servername/log/system/logging.log, it mentions that it needs to read from saplogging.config. What is this file suppose to be? What is calling this? and is it mandatory to be there for logging to work correctly?

I tried to make a dummy config file according to the netweaver log configuration standard, and if it's there, logging works as expected....but everything seems to go out of the window when this file is not there.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Aldo,

Check this OSS note 914580.

It is not related to the symptoms of your problem but nevertheless should be helpful.

It has the file saplogging.config attached to it.

Please award points for useful answers.
