Need clarification on SLM/SLC and SRM 7.0 EHP3

Hi Experts-

We are currently searching for clarification and help in understanding the following scenario in a SLM implementation (Supplier registration and supplier management)
.

"Sell Side and Buy Side : SAP Supplier Lifecycle Mgmt on SAP SRM 7.0 EHP1; Without backend".

We got this as one of the option of realization alternatives when checking in service marketplace. Here is the attachment-

We would like to understand this from a technical architecture and functional standpoint perspective-

- Can the same SAP SRM system (SRM 7.0 EHP1 in this case) be used for Selling side and  Buy side in a SLM implementation?

- If yes, Is there any extra configuration needed here ? for ex - separate clients for Sell side configuration and Buy side configuration.

Also if possible, please forward any SCN link/documentation which sheds some light on this scenario.

Hi Amit,

kindly have a look at the following documentation:

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_slc/helpdata/en/50/6ab2df084042d9a8453864e8939525/frameset.htm

Usually Buyside and Sellside should be deployed on different physical systems due to security reasons. This way you can limit access for the suppliers from the web to the DMZ. This is the setup SAP recommends.

It is possible to deploy SLC Buyside and Sellside on the same SRM instance, though not in the same client.

Kind regrds

Armin
