Hi All,
Can anyone explain in detail with an example about USAGE field in item category determination
Thanks,
Ramana.
Hi,
Usage determines how a particular is actually being used along with conditions.
As an example the free goods determination takes place like this :
OR + Norm -
> TAN ( Main item )
OR + Norm + FREE ( Usage) + TAN (Higher Levl it.cat) -
> TANN.
So, the free goods determination takes place because of this entry being maintained in the item category determination.
Its the usage that helps determine the functionality.
Similary to do cross selling the USAGE , CSEL must be maintained.
The item usage indicator controls the system reaction when you process a sales document item in a certain context.
Use
This indicator can be used for determination of item categories, where you can use it to control which other item categories are to be found in a certain environment (text items and packing items, for example).
It can also control which items are to be billed in a service quotation or the corresponding sales order and which are only there for statistical reasons.
Also, SAP allows us to create new usages which use to have a different item category being determined in the sales order.
Hope it helps. Please reward if useful.
Thanks & Regards
Sadhu Kishore
