Authorization object S_ALV_LAYO for display only

Dear experts,

We have a SD Z transaction on which the the Authorization object S_ALV_LAYO is assigned and contains only the Activity 23-Maintain.

For a specific role, I would like to give access to this transaction only in Display.

Is it possible to add an activity to this object? I tried with Transaction SU22 but I can't change it.

An activity can be added to an authorization object by using transaction SU21.

You modified TACTZ? Sorry, but that is not a wise idea..

Did you modify ALV as well? That would even be worse..

You should simply have used S_ALV_LAYR. LAYO is not needed to be able to display.

You need to go to Su21 (maintain authorization objects) for adding a new activity

Why is S_ALV_LAYO needed in first place if the Z transaction is display only? What are you trying to do as it doesn't sound like you are using S_ALV_LAYO correctly?
