We have a requirement to utilize the configured material (Returned by the customer) so that few parts of the material can be reused and moved back to stocks with costing.
Process says : Replace the non working configured unit through the existing sales process with FOC. Customers returns the faulty unit. In this unit there are some blocks of materials which are good. These materials required to be removed (dismantled) and posted back to the stocks to be reused in another assembly. The valuation of the removed material will be different.
How to achieve the above process so as to also have the costing for the removed material (Can we have moving avg. based on the removed material goods issued back to stocks)
Could not find any note which details about the configuration material with refurbishment order
Solutions other than CS refurbishment can also be explored...

Hi,
You can use Split valuation in the material master
Create three split valuations for the material ( for example as C1, C2 and C3)
For each valuation criteria you can have separate valuation price
for example
R-1001 with C1 valuation price is 100
R-1001 with C2 valuation price is 80
R-1001 with C3 valuation price is 50

Hi,
Interesting requirement.
One of the theories here could be to have the returns PGR - Post Goods Receipt into a Quality Stock [not unrestricted stock] and then move the stock from Quality to Unrestricted OR Scrap through Material Transfer Posting. This way your Cost of Sales would be captured there.
Based on the returns Sales Order, you can create a Subsequent delivery FOC to replenish the customer.
You may have to involve an MM Consultant for this.
Thanks.
