Incident Mmgt: Search Result list is limited to 500 results

Hello Experts,

when searching for incidents in our solution manager we're not getting the full list. The problem is: when searching for a certain business partner - I am supposed to get over 500 results, but the search result view limits it to a number of 500 results.

It doesnt matter whether entering 500 or more - the result is everytime 500.

Now I think one of my predecessor admins might have changed this and left no documention - unfortuantly I cant get a hook on my to ask.

So my question is: is anyone aware on how to restrict the result list without changing the solmanpro role parameters (SEARCH_MAX_HITS = Default 100) ?

Any hint is highly appreciated 🙂

Hi Heiko,

The message you are getting is default, every time displayed above the search list, if you given

Maximum search list =10, then you may get the message More than 10 incident found.

I suppose this is the very regular behavior.

But if you want to change anyway check out the BADI suggestion as below

Hello Heiko,


There is a customizing parameter to set the max records of CRM

search.  If it is not set, default value is 500. If business partner

is include in search parameters, this parameter will be used.  The

parameter's name is SM_ITSM_BP_FUNC_SEARCH_LIMIT

To solve your issue, you can follow the below steps:

1) Open transaction SM30

2) Type talbe AGS_WORK_CUSTOM

3) Insert one record: type SM_ITSM_BP_FUNC_SEARCH_LIMIT in NAME

field and 5000 in VALUE field.

You can adjust the number according to your situation. For example, if

expected result is around 2000, you can set 2000 or above.

Heiko,

We notice the exactly same behavior when search on ITSM. The max search result is always limited to 500 , even if the "max number of result" is set above 500.
