Hi together,

im trying to update a fresh solution manager installation with sum 1.0 SP09. Under tab java the update fails with error Invalid SAPServiceSID user credentials for host <hostname>.

I have checked the password. The password is correct and works for the abap update

I have made a restart and I also searched for the keywords:

SUM  configure  detect-system  input-os-user-credentials  com.sap.sdt.j2ee.services.servicesimpl.SapServiceSidDialogService  class
com.sap.sdt.util.validate.ValidationFailureException

all i came up with is http://scn.sap.com/thread/1415197

anyone has a clue how i can get passed this error?

Cheers, Tobias

Seems I have found the solution - which was too obvious. I overlooked that the default-setting for the username is .\SAPserviceSID - while this user is a Domain user. After I used DOMAIN\SAPserviceSID everything went well.

Thank you all!

Hi,

Try to overwrite directly in the field where you have "./sapservice<sid>"

I already updated the saphostagent. SUM did not throw an error like it is mentioned in the note you named.   Here is the output of C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe>sapcontrol -nr 0 -function GetVersionInfo -user sm1adm correctPassword >d:\tmp\sapcontrol_version.txt

Hello Tobias,

Have you tried to connect manually to the system with ther user/pwd of  SAPServiceSID.  And can you attach the log file "D:\usr\sap\SM1\SUM\sdt\log\SUM\INPUT-OS-USER-CREDENTIALS_08.LOG".

Mudasir.

Hi Mudasir.  Regarding password - the password is fine. I tried copy&paste as manual typing. There is an "$" in the password which makes me kind of think that SUM is not able to cope with special characters...

d:\usr\sap\SM1\SUM>net use \\%COMPUTERNAME%\sapmnt correctPassword /USER:SAPserviceSM1
The command completed successfully.

d:\usr\sap\SM1\SUM>net use \\%COMPUTERNAME%\sapmnt wrongPassword /USER:SAPserviceSM1
System error 86 has occurred.

The specified network password is not correct.

d:\usr\sap\SM1\SUM>

Here is the content of INPUT-OS-USER-CREDENTIALS_08.txt

Nov 28, 2013 3:48:40 PM [Info  ]: Host <HOSTNAME>.  is identified as a Windows host. Requesting SAPServiceSID credentials.
