Hello All ,
This is more of a basis related question for PI . We have a schedule of having weekly backups . Some of them are offline and some are online. After this downtime when the systems are back up , on PI RFC reciver CC which talk to our ECC system throw an error saying that the ECC system is not reachable.
When we re activate the CC they work fine again. I don't think it is normal process as there might be missing messages which are lost during the downtime. I wanted to know if any body faced a similar problem and the best practices for offline backups. How can we avoid it from happening in future ?
I am relying on expert Basis opinions to tell why this problem is occurring. Maybe we are not following the right backup procedure.?
Looking forward to your answers.
Thank you
Venkat
Hi Venkat,
You can schedule when your channels go to be up with PI ATP. Check this http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/46/ad6cfeb5492a86e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
However, if you dont want to see exceptions in PI you will need to do the planning with the sender channel.
You have some screenshoots in Deepak Shah's blog http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2010/03/29/polling-vs-atp-in-sap-pi
Regards.
