SAR SRM 7.0 catalog browser back button is creating a new session each time

Hi All,

SAP SRM catalog browser back button is creating a new shopping session each time.It should have behaved the same way as Back to application in the browser tool bar ie. it should go back to the main shopping page instead creating another. I checked with portal guys and got info it cannot be configured from there end as it is standard.

I could not find any relevant notes related to this.  Has any one got any clue to how to correct its functionality.

Do you have an internal SAP Catalog (like SRM-MDM)? If yes, please check the call structure regarding Outbound Handler. It is needed only for external catalogs. Incase internal catalog is being used, then this can be turned off mataining
BYPASS_OUTB_HANDLER with value 'X'

Make sure the following values are also present after the HOOK_URL parameter:

Paramneter Name - returntarget
Parameter Value - _top
Type - Fixed Value

Parameter Name - ~caller
Parameter Value - CTLG
Type - Fixed Value

Parameter Name - ~OkCode
Parameter Value - ADDI
Type - Fixed Value

Hi Anita,

Thanks for your quick reply. But here we are face the same problem with internal and external catalogs. As you mentioned we checked the call structure parameters and found all maintained as mentioned. For external catalog call structure what needs to be maintained.

Hi Betcy,

sorry, realised only now, that you use the back button of your browser. It is not recommended to use the browser buttons during the catalog call, you have the "Back to application link" for the return. Maybe you can check this note: 1445078 (only a similar problem)
