Hi Experts,

I am trying to implement a process for my backup where in the backup standby database is updated via offline log files. The previous basis has some notes on how to do it. But since i am a beginner i am having trouble implementing some of the notes. I would just like to ask if anyone is familiar with these scripts brarchive -p init(SID).sap -u system/password –c force -f –w and

brarchive -s -p init(SID).sap -u system/password -f -m 1 and what they are suppose to do?

Any help on this matter is deeply appreciated.

Hi Rosendo,

brarchive -p init(SID).sap -u system/password –c force -f –w

-p refers to <profile>

-u refers to <user>[/<password>

-c refers to confirm [force]

-w refers to [verify]

Initialize tape to be usable for log file management. The 'force' option means: no label checking! Overwrite tape. The 'show' option will display a tape's label.

[-m|-modify [<delay>]]

[-s|-save|-sc|-second_copy|-ds|-delete_saved|-dc|

this should make you more clear on what you these commands stand for.

Dear Buddy,

Kindly take the oracle password file from your primary database and past to standby database.

Then log will transfer, if you do the defer from you primary database.

If you have any more query one this please ping me here.

Thanks
