Hey experts
Any idea of the importance of using the Grouping and Characteristics Assignment when using tscube ?
Looking at my system it is always at the detailed level and all the characteristics are assigned. If the foll table indicates Infocube contents -
Prod Group | Product | Location | History
B1 | P1 | L1 | 5 | |
B1 | P1 | L2 | 5 | |
B1 | P2 | L3 | 5 | |
B1 | P2 | L1 | 5 | |
B1 | P2 | L2 | 5 | |
B2 | P3 | L1 | 5 | |
B2 | P4 | L1 | 5 | |
B3 | P5 | L3 | 5 |
If we have this setting during tscube -
Grouping | Base Code | Location |
Assignment | Base Code | Location |
then will we get these values in the Planning Book -
Prod Group | Location | History
B1 | L1 | 10 | ||
B1 | L2 | 10 | ||
B1 | L3 | 5 | ||
B2 | L1 | 10 | ||
B3 | L3 | 5 |
This result seems right. Experts , your views please.
Another question is how will the Products P1 , P2 , P3 and P4 get the History values ?
Will they differ from the infocube values ?
Waiting for your replies. Auf Wiedersehen .
KK.
Hi, the settings you mentioned is very much important in TSCUBE. Grouping condition defines how the data in infocube will be aggregated before copy to planning area, and characteristic assignments defines to which CVC will the data be copied. You may get very different results with different settings.
It seems that you uncheck "Product" in the grouping condition, which means data will be aggregated at product group and location level, ignoring product level. So when the data is extracted from infocube, you have below CVCs and their data:
Prod Group | Location | History
B1 | L1 | 10 | ||
B1 | L2 | 10 | ||
B1 | L3 | 5 | ||
B2 | L1 | 10 | ||
B3 | L3 | 5 |
The history data is aggregated to unique "product group - location" combinations.
Then it copies the history data to planning area at the same level, and then disaggregates to each products (detailed CVC level) using the disaggragation type you specified for the key figure in planning area setting, by which the P1~P4 get their values. They're most probably different than what in the infocube due to disaggregation.
