Former Member

Hi All,

We have to install following japnese syllabry on our ECC server

1. Katakana

2. Hiragana

3. Kanji

Below are my concerns/issues regarding this language import

1. From where I can get the media for these three Japnese language syllabry since in SAP market place I got material for Japnese language and in that material there might be so many other syllabry present which we don't require for our landscape.

2. Do I have to install each syllabry individually.

Would request you to please help me on this.

Regards

Ashish

Hi Ashish,

the Japanese language consists of different writing systems:

Have a look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_language

Excerpt:

Modern Japanese is written in a mixture of three main systems: kanji, characters of Chinese origin used to represent both Chinese loanwords into Japanese and a number of native Japanese morphemes; and two syllabaries: hiragana and katakana.

However there is only one language import for Japanese, which includes all these characters.

Hence there is no difference for the language installation compared to other languages.

The other answers already indicate where to find the Japanese language package.

Hello,

Check the SAP Note 330104 - Transportrequests used for language delivery // SRx

It has the CD & other information to install the languages.

Hope it helps.

Hi Ashish

As these are all seems to fall under the japanese language pack, you can get the software under your release in SMP

I would suggest to load the full JAPANESE language transports

To load only certain syllabry i would suggest to contact SAP
