Reg Planning Area Initialization in SAP APO DP

Hi All,

If we run /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE to initialize the planning area, will it have any impact on the key figure values also. We generally roll forward by one month while running /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE. I would like to understand whether this program will delete/change the key figure values during these months.

Absolutely. You will not loose any time series KF values as long as you do not do De-initialization of Planning Area.

However, when you say you are rolling one month forward, I assume you are rolling off one month from past also. So, you will loose data from that bucket, if there is any.

E.g. You have Intializaed planning area from Nov 2012 to Nov 2014

And you run the program withe one month rolling.

Program will create time series from Dec 2012 to Dec 2014.

And if you have any values in Nov 2012 bucket, you will loose it.

(The above explanation is only for time series key figueres and not for order series, You will not loose any order series key figure data in any case)

Hi LSS,

Like Abhay says you will lose the ability to see the data in the Planning Book for Nov 2012. In case you need these values you can craete a Back Up cube of the Planning Area and store it.

This program will not delete the KF values. It will just add another bucket in the horizon
