Hi,
We have ABAP and Java on different databases with different SID on the same host.
In case we need to do a DB refresh or system refresh, do we need to do the refresh of Java system also or is it enough
just to perform the ABAP system refresh ? Customer only needs the refresh of data in the system for the testing purposes.
Please share your advises in this regard,
Thanks & Regards,
Ramakrishna
Hi Ramakrishna
Because of the setup you have you are able to copy the abap stack only
just a foot note to check that only stack-isolated applications (that is, pure ABAP applications and pure Java applications) that do not have direct dependencies to applications running on the other stack

Hi,
So this means both the system are different SID and are connected to each other as the postal is used to get the data from the backend.
So you can just do the abap copy but you need to take case of the following things.
Where is the ume of the portal system . is it abap. if yes then you will have to change the users and settings.
Do you have JCO and system landscape defined in the portal to point the backend if yes then you will have to change them.
If SSO is there between the portal and the abap system you will have to reconfigure it.
If you are refreshing the Abap system you will have to do post system copy for abap plus also have to configure the portal so that all the functionality works.
Thanks

How ABAP and JAVA are related ? just sharing same hardware/host ?
If yes, technically, you should be able to do refresh of only ABAP.
