Hi Everyone,
My client's requirement is, mail should be sent from SAP system to their mail ID.
For mailing purpose, client uses mail server rediffmailpro.com.
The outbound details for that mail server are smtp.rediffmailpro.com and port: 587.
I have configured the SMTP with these details in SCOT and also maintained parameter icm/server_port_1 with port no: 587,
but not able to send the mails.
I have tried with port:25 also.
I have a doubt here, can we use this rediffmail server details in SCOT for sending mail from SAP system to required mail ID's ?
or
Is it necessary that we should have a separate SMTP server in the same network where the SAP systems are present ?
Thanks in advance,
Sudhir Sadhu

Hi Sriram,
In your mentioned link:
There, Bilgen has mentioned that to connect from SAP system to SMTP server in between we have to use an intermediate IIS SMTP server for authentication.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Sudhir,
Please check whether you can connect to the port or not
telnet smtp.rediffmailpro.com 587
letus know the result.
Moreover follow the above article posted by sriram.

You configure the SAP system to send mails using an SMTP server.
The SMTP server relay settings should permit this as well.
If the SMTP server requires an authentication then from SAP it is not possible.
For configuring mail sending option on SAP using Tx SCOT you may use this SAP note.

Hi Reagan Benjamin,
Yes, the SMTP server requires the authentication to connect to it.
I had understood from the link:
As per discussion with you and sriram, I understand that we have to use an intermediate IIS server for authentication between SAP system and SMTP server.
Thanks for the help.
