SAPMSYST dialog process is running for a long time

Hi,

I found one dialog process is running for a long time in one application server. Plesae let me know what is SAPMSYST. will it affect the system when we kill this process.

Hi,

PID running at OS level?....and Kill it.

Hi, Could you please run dpmon at OS level and check , is there any semaphore deadlock?

Hi Subbu,

SAPMSYST is a standard program which has the following information

1)Last system logon

2)SAP user name

3)First system logon

4)User menu

5)TermID:

6)Terminal

7)License expires on

8)License w/o expiration

9)External User Authorization

10)Multiple logon logged

etc,etc....

Hi subbu,

check with your application team who using this transaction and make discussion with application team then only you can kill the process...

Hello Subbu,

The Process seems to be hanged while trying to login so there would be any user associated with this process. You may kill it without affecting anything in the system.

As far as I remember SAPMSYST is a system program related to the logon screen or dialog logon session, the process seems to be stuck in Limbo, I would simply kill the process.

Check for any user sessions which were not disconnected in Tx SM04
