problem with the follow-on document numbers in SRM

Hi Experts,

We are on SRM 7.01,classic scenario.Maintained the same number ranges in R/3 and SRM.number ranges for PO,PR marked external in R/3.the problem is the document numbers are not identical after creation.In classic scenario we will have the copy of the PO in SRM.since the number's of the SRM and R/3 PO are not same do we get any problem.Are the document numbers should be identical.

Hi Kiran,

The PO number range need to be identical in R/3 and in SRM. As this is classic scenario, the PO is generated in R/3 and sent back to SRM as a copy. Therefore, the number range in R/3 need to be internal and in SRM it should be external.

Likewise, for GRN also the leading system will remain R/3

Hi Ravi,

As you mentioned the document number ranges are similar and marked as external in SRM.PO copy is still unavailable in SRM.

The document numbers are listed under the Back-End Document Number.  You can click the Purchase Requisition or Purchase Order link under the Document column to get a quick view of those documents.
