Point in time recovery

Hello All,

We have to recover DB on point in time on particular time .

Example : 20th Nov 15:30 hours

Online backup available 19th Nov and we have restored 19th Nov online backup but how to restore redo log backup until 20th Nov 15:30 hrs .

Please advise still confused list of redo log files .

If the database is on archivelog mode then there will offline redologs created.

Restore the full online backup.

Check the log sequence number in the backup log.

You will need to restore the archived logs from that time until 20th Nov 15:30 hrs

Hi John,

You can use the following command with brtools to recover the files

brrestore -p initSID.sap -a 65-66 -d rman_disk -k no

once this is done then you can recover the database until time in sqlplus

recover database using backup controlfile until time '2013-11-20 15:30:00';

or you can do all this from the brtools menu options
