Hi Nelson

When you apply for license did you choose right product, selecting slight different product for JAVA systems will cause license issue.

Hi Nelson,

As per the logs I can see "the last successful check is too long ago".In this case you can install Temp license key first by choosing Install Temporary License in Slicense

Then check whether you can log onto the SAP System. If the logon possible without any errors then you can install the permanent license in later stage.

You can refer the below links for more information..

You just need to request for a new license with the hardware key.

To get hardware key connect to the OS as sidadm and issue :

saplicense -get

Request new license at http://service.sap.com/licensekey

Hi Benjamin,

Did that already and the problem is not that , it looks like the server is not assuming the new license.

Hi Nelson,

I have faced similar issues many times. But the best solution would be delete the Temp license and permanent  license which is having problem(don't forget to save it) and then request for new license with correct hardware key.

Hope this should solve your issue..

Hi Bikki,

It´s not possible, it refuses deleting the temp license. The Permanent license are correct and the hardware key is also correct.

Looks like the system is not assuming the key. these keys o requested yesterday and installed.

Hi,

If you say that you have correct license has been generated using hardware key.

Please check the below note

1512766 - Most common reasons for error message: "Logon not possible (error in license check)"
Note 1440360 - Error in license check - Invalid parameter HANDLE
Note 1717857 - Protecting the license key memory
1827311 - License with new installation number cannot be installed

Most of the case details in the SMP is not correct like product or hardware key.

Thanks

Try at OS level

sage: saplicense  function [ ... ]

These functions are possible:

       -delete             delete installed license

-get                get hardware key (hardware key)

       -help [option]      display help information

                           option: get/install/temp/show/test

       -install [ifile=]   install license key

-pinstall [ifile=]  install product license key

-uinstall [ifile=]  install license with userlimit

       -number             get installation number

       -show               show license table

       -temp               install temporary license

       -test               test license

       -version            show version of saplicense

[ ... ]    optional SAP command line parameters

           e.g. NAME=<SID>  TRACE=2  pf=<profile>

To get an SAP License you have to complete the

  following steps:

  1) Find out the machine on which the SAP message server is running.

  2) Get your hardware key by running "saplicense -get"

on the machine where the SAP message server is running.

  3) Logon to SAPnet and send a license request to SAP.

  4) On receipt of your license key from SAP, install it

     using "saplicense -install".

As a more convenient way to install the license please

use the transaction SLIC in the SAP system.

May be helpful.

Also,

Regarding this issue you should firstly review the following SAP Note in detail:

   870871 - License key installation

BTW what is the exact error message in the work process trace file?

The issue here could be with the security toolkit parameters, which probably might not be correct. Kindly check and fix the following profile parameters:

ssf/name             = SAPSECULIB

ssf/ssfapi_lib       = <Path and file name of the SAPCRYPTOLIB>

sec/libsapsecu    = <Path and file name of the SAPCRYPTOLIB>

ssl/ssl_lib           = <Path and file name of the SAPCRYPTOLIB>

       OR

In the situation of

- (evaluation) license expired and only SAP* allowed to log on

- new (evaluation) license available with different system number (as is common with evaluation licenses)

- system version with "new" license method

you can not

- use "saplicense" on command line to delete/install licenses

- install the new valid license as long as the expired one (with different system number) is in place

- delete the expired license as user SAP* (not allowed)

- no changes from SE16 to SAPLIKEY are allowed

So it seems, you're kind of stuck on application level.

There's a workaround, you can

- use SE14 to truncate table SAPLIKEY (activate and adjust, deleting data), thereby dropping ALL licenses (don't do this, if there are additional licenses, like for HA hardware)

- use SQL to delete just the offending old license from SAPLIKEY

- then you should be able to install the new license (using SQL, explicit commit and /$tab might make a difference)

If additionally SAP* is locked, you won't be able to avoid SQL.

- follow the before mentioned procedure of: deleting SAP* from USR02 (only production-MANDT), setting login/no_automatic_user_sapstar (restarting), logging on with pass

Hi Sharma,

I did that but still not working. SAP sent me a new licenses as I show on the screenshots and they are installed correctly but the system is not assuming them.

I removed the TEMPLISENCE but it didn´t recognized the new ones as permanent and definitive.

What do I do.

Now I don´t know if I can restart the system and if I will be able to logon with SAP* because there is no license installed.

Hi,

Now I don´t know if I can restart the system and if I will be able to logon with SAP* because there is no license installed.

This is still possible.

Have you check all the notes provided to you.

Hi Nelson,

Among the possible reasons are:

  • SLICENSE check fails
  • DB connect problem; Sometimes this error can occur when there are network connection problems to the central or database instance
  • Message server connection problems connecting to the central instance. This could be a temporary problem
  • Missing entry in the services file
  • Some profile parameters do not point to the correct server in your DEFAULT.PFL and instance profile.

Resolution

  • There's failure in SLICENSE check:
    Need SLICENSE screenshot for validation.
If the license is invalid, you should reach for XX-SER-LIKEY team to obtain permanent valid netweaver and maintenance key.

It is also possible, that the license key library could not be initialized, please see SAP Note 982056 in this case.
  • It could be DB connect problem... Sometimes this error can occur when there are connection problems to the central instance:
Need to engage database team to check the problem.
  • Sometimes this error can occur when there are connection problems to the central instance (message server). This could be a temporary problem:
Please try to restart your SAP servers.
  • There is some missing entry in the services file.

Check the file /etc/services for missing entries like   sapms<SID> 3600/tcp

   sapdp00    3200/tcp
   ...
   sapdp99    3299/tcp
   sapgw00    3300/tcp
   ...
   sapgw99    3399/tcp
  • Some parameters are not pointing to the correct server in your DEFAULT.PFL and instance profile:

Please check your DEFAULT.PFL and instance profile and verify that all parameters are pointing to the correct server, etc...
