Effective_date transformation in BODS

Hi,

I have read about effective_date in BODS and it Calculates an effective-to value for data, I dint get the actual usage and the way to implement it.

Is there anyone who has used this transformation in practical scenario and could tell me how to use it along with proper steps then it would be

a great help.

Hi Karishma,

This transformation is very much useful for implementing SDC type 2.

Whenever new record insert for same primary key then previous row will be close on basis of effective_end_date .

For example ,

Another method is to add 'effective date' columns.

Supplier_Code	Supplier_Name	Supplier_State	Start_Date	End_Date
ABC	Acme Supply Co	WB	01-Jan-2000	21-Dec-2012
ABC	Acme Supply Co	UP	22-Dec-2012
