Hi experts,
Could you help me about a question below?
I'm going to analyze performance of our ERP with ST03N.
In ST03N screen, I can find workload overview of background task type.
I don't know the meaning of "Average response Time/Dialog step(ms)" of BACKGROUND task type.
Does this mean the average response time of a background job, or response time of a program?
Best Regards,
Naomi Yamane
Hi Naomi,
You can get the idea about workload Overview from below link in which mentioned about content of ST03N.

Hello Naomi,
Refer to the link for more info on SAP Response times. : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/21/2c8f38c7215428e10000009b38f8cf/content.htm

Every task that SAP does is in small steps. Those steps are called as dialog steps (simply small unit of work is called dialog step). Even background processing happens in dialog steps. Now Average response time/dialog step is nothing but the time to execute these dialog steps. The Background task type nothing but refers to background processing.
So "Average response Time/Dialog step(ms)" of BACKGROUND task type means avg response time for dialog steps for background job or any background processing.
